Blueberry soup together with juice and dried blueberries has often been used for stomach problems, diarrhoea and loose stomach. Fresh blueberries are said to be soluble (especially for people who are extra sensitive) while blueberry soup is stuffing. Also dried berries and leaves can be used as tea to counteract various stomach problems. It is mainly the tannic acid and tannin’s in the blueberries that gives the positive effect on stomach problems.

Blueberries have an anti-inflammatory effect and therefore counteract the onset of cardiovascular disease. The berry contains potassium and magnesium, substances that are important for a healthy heart but also for the nervous system. Blueberries can also lower bad cholesterol, LDL and even lower the lipids slightly.
