Find your community

If you didn鈥檛 get the chance to live the 鈥渄orm life,鈥 it doesn鈥檛 mean you can鈥檛 make friends in a new environment. Sometimes, to make a big school feel like home, it helps to find your group of people as soon as possible.听聽

Getting involved can help you meet friends, discover interests and hobbies, and even explore different career paths. Here are a few of the many possibilities to check out this semester:

  • Try out one of the Rec Center鈥檚 FitWell virtual classes and meet fellow Buffs who are interested in staying active during virtual times.
  • Join the Sustainable Buffs Community for opportunities to engage in community building, education and leadership in sustainability.
  • Become a member of The Herd and celebrate your place at 91福利社. You can also become a Herd Leader and be a part of enhancing inclusivity, Buff pride and networking opportunities on campus.
  • Participate in community-building programs, educational workshops and inclusive events with the Center for Inclusion & Social Change.听

Help with a research project聽

罢丑别听Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program provides hands-on experience in a research or creative project. This is also a chance to connect with faculty mentors.

Attend virtual events聽

Even if you feel like you can鈥檛 commit to too many things this semester, there are many benefits to engaging virtually in your first semester at CU. And a great way to do that is attending virtual events.

One of the perks of attending virtual events is that you get to participate in fun activities from the comfort of your own space 鈥 yes, that means snacks and PJs! Some events have special guests that you might not otherwise have had the chance to see. Attending virtual events is a great opportunity to have new interactions and engage with others in a time where you would not normally be able to do so.
