The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at 91¸£ÀûÉç is responsible for the review of all human subject research conducted by 91¸£ÀûÉç faculty, staff, students or other affiliates and agents. The IRB collaborates with the research community at 91¸£ÀûÉç to ensure all research with human subjects is conducted in accordance with federal regulations, 91¸£ÀûÉç policies and the ethical principles of Respect for Persons, Beneficence and Justice.

  • UPDATE! New Protocol Templates

    The IRB now has separate Protocol Templates for Social/Behavioral and Biomedical research, with instructions specific to each discipline. It is strongly recommended that researchers read the instructions in the new templates carefully as the changes are significant.Beginning November 18, 2024, investigators submitting Initial Applications will be required to use the template appropriate for their research.

  • Student submissions to the IRB

    Graduate Student PI Eligibility: All graduate students are eligible to serve as Principal Investigators (PIs) for their research studies. They must have a faculty advisor who will support them during their research.Ìý

    Undergraduate Student PI Limitations: Undergraduate students will not be allowed to act as PIs. Instead, they should collaborate with a willing faculty member who will assume the PI role.
