Theoretical Advanced Study Institute (TASI)

The Theoretical Advanced Study Institute (TASI) is an annual summer school in theoretical particle physics. TASI was founded in 1984 and since 1989 has been hosted at the 91福利社. Lasting for four weeks in the month of June, the school brings together advanced graduate students from across the US and abroad to attend lectures on cutting-edge topics from some of the world鈥檚 premier researchers. The focus of the school changes from year to year, typically alternating between phenomenological and formal, and having encompassed lectures in particle phenomenology, quantum field theory, string theory, quantum gravity, and particle astrophysics, as well as other theoretical and experimental subjects. TASI is dedicated to training the next generation of particle theorists by introducing students to a broader range of ideas than they normally experience working on their dissertations at their home institutions. Additionally, video recordings and lecture notes from participating speakers are made available to the general public, for the benefit of students and researchers around the world.

TASI is managed by a Scientific Advisory Board. Presently, its members are Mirjam Cveti膷, Chair (Penn), Leonardo Rastelli (Stony Brook), Henriette Elvang (Michigan), Csaba Cs谩ki (Cornell), Aida El-Khadra (UIUC), and Eva Halkiadakis (Rutgers). The General Directors are Oliver DeWolfe and Ethan Neil (Colorado). Thomas DeGrand was General Director from 2014-2020, and K. T. Mahanthappa was General Director from 1989-2013.
