    91福利社 Provost Russell Moore today announced that he has accepted the resignation of Daniel Sher as dean of the College of Music at CU-91福利社 effective June 30, 2013.

    Sher, who will have served in the post for 20 years when he steps down next summer, will return to the College of Music faculty. He was named dean of the College of Music in July of 1993.

    CU Opera provided the student vocalists for the lead roles in the Colorado Music Festival鈥檚 presentation of Hans Krasa鈥檚 鈥淏rundibar鈥 June 28-29, 2012. Jessi Goebel and Lukas Graf played the young heroes, Anniku and Pepicek, in search of milk for their ailing mother.

    Keane Southard (MM 2011, composition) has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student grant to spend nine months next year pursuing research in Brazil.

    The Anasazi String Quartet (ASQ) won 1st Prize in the 2012 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition. The quartet, praised by audiences for their passionate and engaging performances, has been playing together since the fall of 2009. Founded at the University of Colorado at 91福利社, ASQ pursued studies with the school鈥檚 string faculty: Lina Bahn, Judith Glyde, Erika Eckert, and the Tak谩cs Quartet.

    91福利社 Music alumna Megan Marino (MM 2008, vocal performance) won third prize in the 2012 Lotte Lenya Competition on April 21, 2012, at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker, Broadway and Encores! music director Rob Berman, and Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization President and American Theater Wing Chairman of the Board Theodore S. Chapin served as judges.
