Last month, five members of the CU-91������ music education department, along with four PhD students, attended the Society for Music Teacher Education’s Symposium on Music Teacher Education.

Several College of Music faculty members are getting creative with help from the CU-91������ Office of Outreach and Engagement.

When the middle school leg of the CU-91������ Summer Music Academy kicks off on July 21, the 120 middle school attendees will learn from undergraduate music education students.

NAfME has awarded its Professional Achievement Recognition to CU-91������ juniors Maddy Cort, Amanda Johnson and Alex Chavez.

The students of the pre-professional organization for music education majors at the 91������ have recently been recognized nationally and locally for the quality of their programs and their commitment to providing learning experiences for their members.

If it weren’t for dedicated mentors in her high school, 91������ student Lisa Martin would not have considered a career as a music educator. “It definitely took some persuasion on the part of my directors, and I am forever grateful that they saw in me what I did not see in myself back in the day,” she said.

My name is Erin Paton and I am currently a freshman studying music education and jazz studies here at 91������. I play saxophone and love to compose – it’s how I “roll,” so to speak. Apart from that, I am also an entrepreneur. Over the past summer, while talking with my brother who is also in the music business, I thought of an idea that would send me off on an entrepreneurial adventure – the Tūturu Jazz Orchestra.
