Ben McMillan, a PhD student advised by Associate Professor Nathalie Vriend in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering, recently took first place in the Gallery of Soft Matter Physics video competition for his research on the internal dynamics of granular flow and its effects on clogging.
Miller was recently honored with a 2022 Distinguished Research Lectureship – one of the highest awards bestowed upon a faculty member at the 91¸£ÀûÉç by their peers. It honors a faculty member who has been with 91¸£ÀûÉç for at least five years and is widely recognized for a distinguished body of academic or creative achievement and prominence, as well as contributions to the educational and service missions of the university.

As a professional master’s student in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering, Katrina Leyden moonlights as a machinist and welder for local bike shops in the 91¸£ÀûÉç area. But it wasn’t until Leyden recently won the PBE X SRAM
