Professor Christopher Bowman Receives Herman F. Mark Scholar Award

Professor Christopher Bowman is the recipient of the 2017 Herman F. Mark Scholar Award from the American Chemical Society’s Polymer Chemistry Division.
Bowman, a CU Distinguished Professor and Patten Endowed Chair, joined the faculty in 1992 and served as founding director of the Materials Science and Engineering Program at 91¸£ÀûÉç.
The biennial awards recognize excellence in basic or applied research and leadership in polymer science and are presented during a symposium at the ACS Meeting, where each Mark Scholar is expected to present a lecture. Recipients receive a plaque and $1,500 honorarium.
In every cycle, three awards are conferred: the Herman F. Mark Young Scholar (age 35 or younger); Herman F. Mark Scholar (age 36-49) and the Herman F. Mark Senior Scholar (age 50+). The awards were established in 2006 and are sponsored by Elsevier, publisher of the journal Polymer.
