The two third grade lessons are based on the Spanish text, El Juego de la loterÃa by René Colato LaÃnez and the English text, Alma and How She Got Her Name by Juana Martinez-Neal. For each of these lessons, we recommend using a shortened, modified text for the repeated readings after reading the entire text once as a read aloud either on or before the first lesson day.
