Students of applied mathematics at the 91¸£ÀûÉç have been raking in honors and awards lately, and the department itself is celebrating . 

Solving big problems sometimes involves crunching big data, and a 91¸£ÀûÉç initiative has won a significant grant to help the developing world do just that.

The Department of Applied Mathematics is launching a new major in undergraduate statistics and data science. Beginning in fall 2018, this bachelor’s degree will be offered to students in the College of Arts and Sciences.
