The AMRC and the University of Nebraska Press Join Forces in Journal Launch: Americas: A Hemispheric Music Journal
In 1991 the American Music Research Center at the 91福利社 began publishing an annual eponymous journal.听听Since its launch, the听AMRC Journal听has published scholarship on a wide range of topics, including music of the American West; African American music-making during Jim Crow; stories of music, migration, and diaspora; Native American music, and new music.听听Now, with its 28th听volume in press, we have decided that it is time to renovate and reposition the journal to better serve the needs of 21st-century scholars and readers.
The AMRC is delighted to announce the launch of听Americas: A Hemispheric Music Journal.听听An annual, peer-reviewed journal published with the University of Nebraska Press,听础尘别谤颈肠补蝉听takes its view of American music broadly, including the diverse soundscapes within the United States as well as the wider Americas, including the Caribbean.听听
Each issue of the journal will be themed.听听The听Call for Papers听for the听听first issue of听Americas, 鈥淏orders/Boundaries/Fronteras,鈥 can be found听here.
The University of Nebraska Press will continue to honor subscriptions to the听AMRC Journal, and both institutional and private subscribers will receive copies of our reimagined publication.
